To be successful, the candidate must:
- Be a hard worker / self-motivated
- Dependable
- Works well on a Team
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 15lbs to a maximum of 45 lbs.
- Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per day
- Willing to work overtime as needed
Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety practices
- Store, move, treat, and process wood products in wood-preserving plant
- Pile wood products, like ties, piling, poles, and fence posts, on trams, by hand or by use of an overhead hoist
- Insert wooden strips to bind space load and shapes load to fit cylinder retort
- Chain or bolt down tram loads, using wrenches fasteners
- Bolt/unbolt doors of retorts with hand or pneumatic wrench
- Pull loads in out of retorts, using a winch
- Drill test-bores in treated or untreated wood with a hand drill
- Open closes valves for operating retort
- Load/unload wood material from railroad cars, trucks, and barges
