ACQ Treated Wood (Decay & Termite Resistant)

ACQ treated lumberThe ACQ preservative used by Sunbelt is a waterborne, alkaline copper quaternary preservative system developed to provide long-term protection of wood exposed in exterior applications. The system is based on the well-established effectiveness of copper combined with an organic quaternary compound and is applied to wood by pressure treatment. ACQ treated wood products are available for above ground, ground contact and fresh water contact applications for projects such as decks, fences and landscaping.

Fastener and Hardware Information

  • Use corrosion-resistant fasteners. ACQ  preserved wood products are designed for long-term performance in outdoor applications and, therefore, require high quality, corrosion-resistant nails, screws, and hardware.
  • Fasteners (and other metal products) for use with ACQ preserved wood products include Hot-Dip Galvanized and Stainless Steel. Aluminum should not be used in direct contact with ACQ treated wood.
